I'm a shake and go kind of girl; I can't spend hours on hair and makeup, I just can't. Especially when it comes to my hair, I wear styles that are glamorous yet very low maintenance. That is why I have never tried a sew in weave. Wearing my hair straight is trouble enough, with the daily routine of upkeep, I can't imagine trying to care for long, straight hair that is almost to the ground. Braids are the perfect option for me. I tried crochet braids before the box braids, and while it was popular with the public, I wasn't loving it like I had expected.
Deciding to actually put in the box braids next was the longest, most annoying decision I've ever made.

Natural Hair: Can I Touch It?
Over the weekend, I went to a church youth conference in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. The trip was super fun; the only bummer was waking up in the dark because our vans left the cabins at 6:15 every morning. Never before have I been so thankful to have my hair in a protective style. While everyone else nearly burnt their hair all off as they straightened their hair while 99% asleep,

Love Letter to My Hair
I
My Hair
Dearest Hair,
Today, I want to take the time to say "I love you". I know that I've been so-called natural my entire life, but boy, have we gone through a lot together. I've done a lot of things to hurt you in the past.

Spring Break 2013: Time to Get Fit!
I have almost two months. I probably should have started already, but better late than never, right? This will be my first spring break ever, so I'm super excited. I am only going because my cousin and her friend take a yearly trip with their family and a few young people to Panama City Beach every year. Every year for spring break while I was in school,

What Makes a Great Blog and YouTube Channel
When I started my first blog, Shoes, Bags, and American Girl Dolls,
I spent many weeks brainstorming and planning out what my mission
concerning my blog and my brand would be. Whatever it is that I do, in
this case starting a blog and YouTube channel, my standards for my own
creations are based off of the standards that I have for others. As
someone who spends a lot of time each day finding new blogs and YouTube
channels, there are certain things that I look for when I follow and
subscribe. So I made sure that I had some idea of what direction I
wanted my blogs and channels to head into. Currently, I have not
uploaded any videos onto my YouTube channels because I refuse to put
anything out there if I feel that I gave less than 110% and if I feel
that the quality of my work is not superior.

Confidence is Contagious! Welcome to My New Blog!
I've never been one to really care about what people thought. Some, like my mom, would say that my free spirit is more negative than positive, because I am extremely outspoken. I prefer to look at it as having a strong sense of confidence, and more importantly, a strong sense of self. Why do people say "You can't please everyone", but then go about their lives trying to do just that?
I attribute my non-conformist spirit to my hair.
